A Hertfordshire syndicate water run by Cemex angling Amwell boasts 2 lakes of 3 and 5 acres and is generally considered to be of medium difficulty.
Both lakes are picturesgue and quiet. Lake 1 is generally gravelly and not usually as weedy. Lake 2 which has more clay bottoms and as a result more weed.
Most of the fish are the Sutton and Fishers ponds strains. Lake one holds around 125 carp to just over 30lb, a fish called Taggy, and is generally reckoned the easier of the the two pits.
Lake two boasts a 40lber in the shape of Jaffa amoungst its 120 or so fish. It also boasts some nice 30lb+ fish including some 30lb+ plus commons, George and the Silver common at 35lb+ at the right times of year.
Night fishing is allowed.
Beans nuts and pulses are banned.
The water operates a normal close season from 30th March to the 1st June.
How to get there
- M25 Jn 25
- Head north on the A10.
- A10 at Jn 5 - Ware and Harlow.
- At the roundabout take the B181 - Stanstead Abbotts.
- Straight across the roundabout and the level crossing into Stanstead Abbotts High Street.
- The Car Park is 200m on the left hand side. (Council Car Park)
As with most Cemex syndicate waters tickets are obtained by contacting Cemex directly and requesting addition to the waiting list.
